Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions set the rules for using McHenry County Busted Mugshots. By browsing or using the pages, a visitor accepts these terms. Anyone who does not accept them should stop using the service.

McHenry County Busted Mugshots is privately owned and has no affiliation with a government agency, Sheriff, jail, or corrections department. Neither the pages nor advertising partners provide FCRA-covered services. The material points visitors toward inmate and jail-record resources in McHenry County and Illinois; it is not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

What This Service Is

This is a private reference service. It stores no official jail, police, court, IDOC, BOP, or ICE records and cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or file a document.

The pages direct visitors toward the McHenry County Correctional Facility and Sheriff records, city records, rosters, court portals, state and federal locators, news sources, and outside research tools. Each outside source has its own rules and controls. The Sheriff corrections page, Sheriff FOIA page, McHenry Public Case Access, and IDOC inmate search are separate official services.

Acceptable Use

Use the pages in a lawful and respectful way. The following conduct is not permitted:

  • Breaking a law through or with the service.
  • Using information to stalk, harass, threaten, or intimidate someone.
  • Making decisions about hiring, housing, lending, insurance, licensing, or similar regulated matters from the material.
  • Trying to enter systems, accounts, or data without authorization.
  • Running bots, scrapers, or automated collection against the pages.
  • Interfering with the service or another visitor’s access.

No Consumer Reports or Screening

McHenry County Busted Mugshots is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not supply background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services, and neither do its ad partners. The data must not be used for any FCRA-covered decision, including:

  • Hiring, firing, promotion, or another employment decision.
  • Tenant or housing screening.
  • Creditworthiness or insurance premium decisions.
  • Licensing, permits, or government-program eligibility.
  • Any other use governed by the FCRA.

Outside Links

Links may lead to jail rosters, booking records, Sheriff and police pages, court portals, legal-aid resources, state and federal locators, news outlets, or third-party search services. The operator does not control their content, privacy practices, prices, availability, security, or uptime. For example, the McHenry Sheriff corrections page, McHenry Public Case Access, and IDOC inmate search are separate services with their own rules. Review the destination’s terms before using it.

Service Provided As Is

All material and access are supplied “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made about:

  • Accuracy, completeness, or current status.
  • Continuous availability or uninterrupted access.
  • Freedom from errors, bugs, or security weaknesses.
  • The depth or correctness of a partner tool’s results.

Custody entries and public records change. Nothing on these pages is an official statement from a Sheriff, police department, court, corrections agency, or other government office.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for damages, losses, claims, or costs that result from accessing, relying on, or being unable to use the pages or an outside link.

Indemnification

A user agrees to protect and hold harmless the operator and its partners from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from the user’s conduct, use of the service, violation of these terms, or violation of another person’s rights.

Ownership of Content

Text, graphics, logos, layout, and code on McHenry County Busted Mugshots belong to the operator or the applicable content partner unless another owner is identified. Copying, distributing, selling, modifying, or republishing protected material requires written permission.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A new version becomes effective when posted. Continued use after posting indicates acceptance of the updated language.

Access May Be Revoked

Access may be limited, suspended, or blocked at any time and for any reason, with or without notice. That may include suspected abuse, automated collection, security risk, or a violation of these terms.

Illinois Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. A dispute must be brought in a court located in Illinois unless applicable law requires another forum.

Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. The affected language will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
